If the shape is not clean

The index holds the G and E strings while the C string passes under it to the 4th fret. Arch the barre slightly so the C string clears it.
Ring and pinky crowd each other
They share the 4th fret on neighbouring strings. Stagger them front to back within the fret so each fingertip lands square.
The chord sounds choked
All four strings are fretted, so any crooked finger mutes a neighbour. Ease off, re-set the fingertips, and pick each string once before strumming.

What makes it an F#m7

F#m7 is a minor seventh chord: an F sharp minor triad (F sharp, A, C sharp) plus a minor seventh (E). The seventh melts the minor's edge into something calm.

F#m7 is the ii chord of E and the vi chord of A, two of the most common guitar keys, so ukulele players meet it constantly in songs carried over from guitar charts. It also anchors the key of F sharp minor.

F#m7 vs F#m

On the ukulele the two are different shapes: F#m is a three finger grip inside the first two frets, while F#m7 is a small barre at the 2nd fret with two fingers at the 4th.

For once the plain minor is the easier chord. When the m7 grip is still settling in, F#m carries most songs; the seventh matters most in E, where the chart usually means it.

Is F#m7 the same as Gbm7?

Yes. F sharp and G flat are one pitch, so the chords are identical. Sharp key charts write F#m7, which is how the chord almost always appears, since its home keys are E and A.

Is F#m7 hard on the ukulele?

Middling. The index barre covers only two strings, but all four strings are fretted, so clean fingertips matter more than strength.

Is this shape movable?

Yes. Nothing rings open: slide the grip down one fret for Fm7 or up one for Gm7, and so on along the neck.
